Open Positions at NJIT

I'm Kasthuri Jayarajah, an incoming Assistant Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (Fall'23). I have openings for multiple PhD students for working with me on exciting projects on human-autonomy teaming and mobile/pervasive computing.

Sample Projects

  • Attention-sharing Human-Drone Teams [vision, demo]
  • Non-verbal Interactive Communication for Human-Robot teams [demo]
  • Collaborative Intelligence for the Internet of Things [vision, paper]
  • Human Behavior-aware Smart Environments [paper, paper, paper]

Experience in one or more of the following will be ideal:

  • Programming experience with collecting and processing sensor data (e.g., IoT sensors for smarthome settings, RGB/Lidar data processing, smartphone/smart watch-based sensing)
  • Programming experience with AR/VR platforms (e.g., MS HoloLens/C/Unity/DirectX)
  • Programming experience with edge platforms (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano/Xavier)
  • Programming experience with robotic platforms (e.g., ground robots, drones, ROS)
  • Familiarity with perception models (e.g., object detection/segmentation) and/or autonomous navigation
  • Publishing at local/international conferences
